‘The subject matter of the project was the artistic examination of the phenomenon of beauty surgery in its social topicality and its cultural significance regarding aesthetic, philosophical, ethical and religious issues. The photographic position of Viola Jaeckers (Viola Lopes) depends on repeated, careful meetings between her and patients, where the ambivalence between doubt and confidence seems to be recognizable with regard to a happier life after surgery. ‘ Prof. Caroline Dlugos, 2004
