| "Nachthelle IV" (2008-2009, Germany/Portugal) The series ‚Nachthelle IV’ (‘Night bright IV’) by Viola Lopes shows locations at night. Using the existing nighttime light sources, the images shine out a special atmosphere to viewers used to normal daylight, where an otherwise close environment appears to be alien. The pictures work away fundamentally through composition and reduction, and open the eyes to another meaning of what it sees. |
